Bill went to be with Our Lord on the 18th of January, 2013, at home in the arms of his loving wife, Merie and his faithful dog, Zoey. Bill started his career at an early age, working for 7Up as a salesperson. He then worked for Combined Insurance as Manager. He transferred to Calgary where he was employed by Sovereign Life Insurance as a Manager and was promoted to Executive Vice President in a very short time. He was with them for 7 years. Bill retired at age 52 and moved to Kelowna with his loving wife, Merie. Bill was a long time member of the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus in Kelowna and Aids Hospice. He coached Midget AA Hockey in Kelowna and Bill was always attending his grandson Johnathon's PeeWee and Midget games. He was an exceptional father and Giga (Grandfather). RUTHERFORD, John Passed away suddenly on January 17, 2013 at home. John was an outdoorsman, an avid reader and a dog enthusiast. He was born in Vancouver on November 11, 1933 to Kate and Jock Rutherford and grew up in the area of 28th and Main. As a teenager, he travelled and worked throughout British Columbia and developed a love of the outdoor life. In 1955, he married his childhood friend and sweetheart, Marjorie. They settled in Richmond and together they raised two children. When the children were grown, he pursued his dream of building a log cabin and living the country life. John and Marjorie found this in Atlin, BC, where he read on his many topics of interest, raised dogs and enjoyed the outdoors. Upon moving to Kelowna in 1995, Marjorie's vision and enthusiasm and John's love of dogs founded the "Pets and People Visiting Society" of Kelowna which they have worked at for many years. She spent her early years in Rock Creek, where she met Albert Dodd. They were married in 1940. After many moves, they ended up in Penticton. Eva and Albert had three children, Barry, Sandy and Tom. Eva loved to spend time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and siblings were always welcome in her home. There was usually a game of crib, yahtzee, or some other card game waiting for her to win. Eva was often the host of many family gatherings. During the summer, everyone went to "Nan's", "Gramma Dodd's", "Auntie Eva's" or "Mom's". There was always lots of family, good food, cold beer and many laughs to be found there. HERMAN, Eva June (nee: Hurlbert) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 19, 2013. Born June 11, 1930 in Rouleau, Saskatchewan, her family moved to Trail, BC in 1942. In 1949 she married Don, who then took her, in 1956, on a wild venture to live in northern BC. They remained for 17 years near Chetwynd. Eva's city life and dream came true when they moved to Kelowna in 1973. Eva's family meant the world to her. She was a very private lady and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and daughter.
