Sadly predeceased by loving husband Cliff Sr. Maureen was compassionate, thoughtful and had a generous spirit, she was the RECOPE Advisor, volunteered at the Hospital Auxillary, Thrift Shop and knit many toques and scarves for the soccer team. LESLIE, Betty: Went to be the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the age of 85. Survived by her son Gordon (Julie) of Saskatoon; grandchildren: Amber (Conner), Ebbony (Calvin), Haille, Gaven (Christina), Ryan (Kristie) and Brianne (Marcus), Jill (Nadine), Jeff (Tara); great grandchildren: Kamryn, Tyler, Eyzek, Kinsley, Kimberly, Adam and Dylan; also survived by her son-in-law Rory. Predeceased by her husband Ivan, daughter Sherrie, son Brian and grandson Dylan Leslie. Betty was born in Hamiota, Manitoba in 1930. She met and married Ivan in 1950 and they came to the Okanagan to semi retire. Betty was very active with the Royal Purple and loved helping wherever she could She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and by all those whose lives she touched. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 3rd at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. FORCIER, Lorrene: A fun loving woman famous for her hospitality and sense of humour (she always had a joke to tell) passed away peacefully on July 8th 2015 at 2:28 a.m. at Haven Hill Retirement Centre in Penticton. During her long life and along her many road trips and adventures, she touched and was loved by an abundance of people.She will be remembered for so many things including her love of music, dancing, company, camping and good food; and for her laugh and warm hugs. She always offered a hand to hold and found great joy in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was surrounded by her loving family until the end and is survived by her brother Bill; her children Terry (Bonnie), Barry (Kathy), Janet, and Delbert (Roberta); her grandchildren Troy (Ingrid), Trina (Terry), Kristi, Keri (Ron), Debra (Menno), Lori (Kevin), Clayten, Nick, and Garrit; her great-grandchildren Devan, Devon, Casey, Skye, Rowan, Ashlinn, Willow and Keeva and many nieces, nephews and good friends. She is predeceased by her husband Albert and her son Wayne. Thanks to the staff at Haven Hill and to Dr. Main and Dr. Watters. KRUGER, Margaret "Maggie": Dec. 17, 1914 - July 13, 2015. On Monday July 13, 2015, Margaret "Maggie" Kruger of Penticton passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Westview South ECU at the age of 100 years. She was predeceased by her parents Peter & Edith Lorenzetto; all her siblings and her children Toby, Floyd, Tillie and Nonie. Maggie will be fondly remembered by her loving family including children Morris, Lucy, Donna, Evelyn, Sherman, Betty and grandson Desmond; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as many extended family. Maggie was born on December 17, 1914 in Hedley, BC but spent most of her life in Penicton. A wake is being held at her home at 7:00 pm Tuesday July 14, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Penticton Indian Band. Interment will follow at the Upper Similkameen Indian Band Cemetery. MARTSINKIW, Carlyle: 1958 - 2015. Carlyle Edward Martsinkiw, a loving and kind soul, son, brother, father and grandfather, passed away on July 12, 2015, at the age of 56. Taken too soon, family and friends take peace in the knowledge he is now in his mother, Mary Martsinkiw's loving arms. Carlyle will forever be remembered by his smile and heartfelt laugh, his gentleness and hard work. He passed peacefully after a fatal stroke with his family at his side. BACHMAN, Donald Elgin: It is with deep sadness that the family of Don Bachman, of Okanagan Falls, announce his passing at the age of 79 on July 7, 2015. As a gifted storyteller, Don was known to share his memories of growing up in his birthplace, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, teaching in a one-room classroom on the Prairies, moving to BC where he taught in a Kamloops school and then began his long and successful career with the Ministry of Transportation. He has positively impacted many lives and will be sorely missed. Don is survived by his loving spouse, Joyce, his children, Shawna and Kyle, and his grandchildren, Kristina, Taylor and Devon, as well as many friends.

GILLMANN, Doris Kathleen: On July 9th in Kelowna BC, Jesus called Doris home. Born on December 13, 1925 and raised in Simmie, Saskatchewan, Doris moved to Kelowna as a young woman where she raised her children, Glenn and Sandi. Doris loved to entertain family and friends with fun gatherings and wonderful meals. She touched all who knew her with a great love, genuine hospitality and wonderful sense of humour. Photos of her family, who she loved so dearly, were proudly displayed throughout her home. Doris always looked forward to visits with close and extended family members. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Glenn (Lori) and Sandi (Jason), grandchildren Jamie, Kalan, Sydney, Brenna, Jacob, her sister Jean and step children Allan and Carol. TOMECKO, Theodore George "Ted": Passed away on July 10, 2015, at the age of 84. He is survived by his loving wife Fran, two daughters, both of Ottawa: Jacqueline (Murray) Turnbull; Patty (Al) Ewing, grandsons, Ryan and Matthew Ewing; and a sister, Kathleen of Winnipeg. Predeceased by his parents, Steven and Ann; sisters, Geraldine and Georgina and brothers, Gerald and Wilbur. Ted was born in Lipton, Saskatchewan on December 28, 1930. He worked on the family farm for a number of years before embarking on a career in the RCMP. He was posted at Viking, Alberta; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Thunder Bay and Ottawa, Ontario. Following his retirement in 1988, Ted and Fran settled in Kelowna and were dedicated parishioners of St. Charles Garnier Catholic Church. Ted was proud of his time spent with the Knights of Columbus choir. He especially enjoyed bringing the joy of song to those in retirement homes. In earlier years dad took pleasure in visiting the family farm in Lipton during summer holidays and stopping to fish at the "Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions" island retreat on Lake of the Woods. Our family is forever grateful for the outstanding care dad received from the staff at Sutherland Hills Rest Home and to Dr. Joshua who looked after dad throughout his illness. Prayers will be held in the Chapel at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, on Wednesday, July 15th at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna on Thursday, July 16th at 10:30 a.m. with reception to follow. MARTIN, June: Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the age of 87. Survived by her family: daughter Dawn; sons Terry (Grace), Myles(Shelley); four grandchildren: Jay, Michol, Brock, Cameron; five great grandchildren: Tye, Cruz, Sunni, Berkeley, Slayter; two brothers Darryl (Shary), Dan; nephews Darren and Jason as well as her extended family. Predeceased by her husband Leonard and sister Erliss. June lived her life in grace and was a light in this world. Her favourite word was "Joy" and she truly lived it and brought that to everyone she met. June always said she was too blessed to be stressed. We are all better people having had her in our lives. She truly was a gift! The family wishes to acknowledge and thank all the staff at Cottonwoods Extended Health Care for their loving care given to June during her stay there. TASCHUK, James Orest: Died on July 15th, 2015 in Kelowna, BC. He was born on May 22nd, 1937 in St Paul Alberta and served 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Jim is survived by Sylvia, his wife of 55 years; their children Mike, Lee and Lois; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was an exemplary husband, father and grandfather and is greatly missed. James was involved with the Salvation Army and Kelowna Gospel Mission serving others in his community. KILLIEN, Patricia Anne: Went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2015 at the age of 72, after a 29 year struggle with Parkinson's disease, complicated at the end by lung cancer. SCHNEIDER, VIOLET ELIZABETH "BETTY" (nee Thomas): September 2, 1917-July 14, 2015. It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Schneider announce her passing. She'll be forever loved and missed by all of us. She is survived by her loving son Ronald (Dawn) Schneider of Kelowna, daughters Rhona Levine of Mackenzie and Sheila (Bob) Daly of Okanagan Falls also by her sister Kathleen Doyle of Okanagan Falls, grandchildren Linda, Ronald, Vance, Paula, Scott, Jim, Dean, Meredith, Gary and Darcy, and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews residing across Canada , USA & Japan. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward & Violet Thomas, husband Ernest, youngest daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Terry Locke as well as sons-in-law Gary Kirkpatrick, Robert (Neil) Levine, her two sisters & their husbands Rene (Dave) Clarke and Mary (Mel) McGregor, brothers-in-law Duncan Lynch and Jim Doyle along with a great granddaughter Courtney Sigmund-White. Mom was born in Vancouver, BC on September 2, 1917. She was raised on her parent's fruit orchard on Allendale Lake Road in Okanagan Falls, worked in the Penticton and Kaleden Packing houses as a teenager. She met Ernie at a local dance, fell in love and they were married on July 28, 1935 in the Okanagan Falls United Church. It was the first formal wedding in the 'Blasted Church'. The newlyweds resided briefly in Penticton before moving to Hedley, BC where Dad worked at the Hedley Mascot Mine until 1941 when the mine closed. Dad was then hired on by Burrard Shipyards in North Vancouver, where they moved and set down roots and raised their family until retirement in 1973. In 1975 they returned to Okanagan Falls building their final home right across the lane from the original homestead. Mom not only left a true legacy of Motherhood but also of Womanhood. Mom was a soft gentle person who found great joy in being with her family and caring for them. She always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a wonderful listener and encouraged the philosophy of turning the other cheek, giving a second chance and never telling secrets. She loved to laugh and received joy from poetry, nature and animals. She loved local and BC history and was a founding member of the Okanagan Falls Heritage Society. The family would like to acknowledge and give thanks to Dr. Frasinski, all of the nurses and staff at the Haven Hill Retirement Centre for their loving, compassionate care over the past two years. We also appreciate the kindness and the support of all those who took time out of their lives to visit with Mom. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Okanagan Falls United Church on Mom's birthday, September 2nd at 11 am with a tea to follow. ROBINSON, Mabel Georgena (Faulconer) (Beliveau): Mabel passed away on July 5, 2015 at Three Links Manor at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her daughter Carol, her first husband Arthur Beliveau and son Allan Beliveau. She is survived by her husband Glen Robinson, sons Richard Beliveau (Patty), Ron (Susan), Brian (Joan), John (Michelle) and her daughter Coleen (Del Purnell). She had 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Mabel is also survived by her two sisters Clara Blacke and Amy Schleppe. Mabel was born in Manitoba but spent all her adult life in Kelowna. She was a very hard worker and worked in the orchards, packing house, clothing store and enjoyed working in the cafeteria at the college. Mabel and Glen managed an apartment for years. Mabel enjoyed bowling, curling, golfing and shuffleboard. She loved watching sports on TV, especially curling and baseball. Mabel loved to bake and there was always a treat when you visited. Mabel also liked to serve others and did so for many years with the ladies auxiliary of the Legion. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten by her husband Glen and those who loved her. Glen wishes to thank her doctor, Dr. Griswold for many years of health care. First Memorial Funeral Services handled her cremation and there will be a private family gathering at a later date.

BURNS, Clara Elva Pearl (nee Whitehead):1924 - 2015 Elva Burns passed away peacefully on July 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at Central Okanagan Hospice House, Kelowna, BC at the age of 91. She is survived by her children: Loretta McFarlane of Lake Country and Elaine Cunningham of Kitimat; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Elva was predeceased by her first husband, Melvin Garfield Young, and her second husband Douglas Henry Burns, as well as her son Melvin Wayne Young. Born in Mortlach, Saskatchewan in 1924, Elva moved to Kelowna in 1959 with her husband Melvin and three children. She married her second husband, Doug in 1984, and truly enjoyed life in the Okanagan. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, 1991 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC.
