WITTICH, Albert Norman: September 30, 1915 - June 28, 2015. Albert was born in Big Stick, Sask. a small hamlet near Maple Creek. Albert passed away at The Village at Smith Creek, Westbank, B.C. Age 99 years 9 months. Albert was born to Phillip and Katherine Wittich who were one of the many Pioneer families of Sask. Albert moved with his folks, two brothers and four sisters to Kelowna, B.C. in 1925 and he grew up with Kelowna being his home town. During WWII, Being 4F, he worked as a blasters assistant at Britannia mine on the West coast. He returned to Kelowna in 1945 where he met and married the great love of his life Ida (nee Miller). Albert had more than a few jobs through his long life. He worked for the railroad for a time. Albert worked in the construction field; he did orchard work for many years. He also worked for Westbank Packing House and Gorman's Mill. Albert and Ida lived in a few places in the Valley but settled in Westbank in 1963 having made a big move from Peachland. Albert loved his wife and children and was a wonderful example of honesty and loyalty. He was overjoyed as each grandchild and great grandchild arrived. Albert loved animals with horses, dogs and rabbits being top on his list. He always loved to joke and had a wonderful sense of humor and fun. He kept this sense of humor up to the very end. Even after he retired from a formal job he was never idle. He grew a huge vegetable garden to share with his children and grandchildren. Ida knew Albert would be either in the garden or his basement workshop. He loved working with wood building toys, benches, and even the bed he shared with his wife for 70 years. He loved collecting and repairing old tools and anything else that came his way. Albert started everyday with bacon and eggs. After he would walk uptown for a newspaper and stock up on more bacon and eggs ever careful to never run out. Albert loved people so his daily walks were never short as he would stop and visit with anyone he knew along the way. Albert is now walking with the Lord and waiting for Ida and the rest of his family to follow him home. Albert is survived by his loving wife Ida Wittich, his five children: Garry (Gloria) Wittich of Westbank, B.C., Sandra (Mark) Wittner of Lumby, B.C., Sharon (Jude) Hunter of Calgary, Alta., Dale (Diane) Wittich of Peachland, B.C., Elva (Allan) Webber of Westbank, B.C.; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; his Sister: Ida Young of Black Diamond, Alta. and many nieces and nephews. KENNETH WAYNE KUNZLI PASSED AW...

Kenneth Wayne Kunzli passed away swiftly and peacefully on June 24, 2015 in Kelowna, BC. Fittingly, Ken beat the system even in death; Ken was told in February that cancer would do him in, but after knocking that back, his heart gave out after 68 years of love for his family and friends. Ken spent his last week celebrating what would have been his mother's 100th birthday, Father's Day with his children, and the 6th birthday of his granddaughter Hazel.
To his children, Mark, Matthew, Kristi, Michael and Karli, he was Dad, a man who loved them unconditionally, someone who always picked them up when they fell down, and the person who showed them what the true meaning of family was.
To his granddaughters, Hazel, Amelia, and Rihlynn, he was Papa, a man who they had only a short time to know, but will have fond memories of for a lifetime.
To his siblings, Dan (Madonna) of Halifax, Bill (Susy) of Kelowna, Roberta (Ronnie) Smith of Montreal, and June Mahoney of Kelowna, he was Kenny; the brother who caused many a smile and a shake of the head for them and their deceased parents, Robert and Dorothy Kunzli.
To the mothers of his children, Kathy (Mark & Matthew), and Judy (Kristi, Michael & Karli), he was a husband, then a @#$%^, but through it all a friend who reserved a special place in his heart for the women that gave him the children he loved above all else.
To all his extended family members and friends, he was Ken, a man who they knew they could count on for loyalty and generosity no matter what.
Ken was many things to many people, and will be dearly missed by all. The family would like to thank Ken's friends Al, Ned and Dave for their friendship, and the staff at the Central Okanagan Hospice House for their kindness and also their understanding when Ken finally realized his lifetime goal of getting prescribed medical marijuana and pushed the boundaries of where he could take his "medication." While Ken may have drank his last Coke and puffed his last toke, he will live on through all the lives that he touched.
Memorial service to be held at 2PM on July 11 at East Kelowna Community Hall followed by a reception, all family and friends are invited to come share their memories. Ken will be put to rest with his mother in a private family graveside committal at a later date.

SULLIVAN, MARGARET MARY "MARNI...
SULLIVAN, Margaret Mary "Marnie" (nee O'Neill): Margaret was born on June 21, 1923 in Cranbrook, BC and died on June 22, 2015 at 4:00 am after a full and productive life of 92 years. Marnie is welcomed by those who have died before her: her trusted husband of 61 years Herb Sullivan, her many immediate and extended loved family members, along with many friends. She is survived by her loved family, her daughter Mary (Doug) Bullock and grandchildren Paul (Chrystal) Bullock, Richard (Tasha) Bullock and great grandchildren Shea, Declan, Rayna (Brandon) and great great grandchildren Marilyn, Lisa (Greg) Schoeler, Mark (Amanda) Bullock and great grandchild Stella Grace; her son John (Ursula) Sullivan and grandsons Jordan Sullivan and Casey Sullivan; her daughter Tricia (Lyle) Baker and grandchildren Michael Baker, Amber Baker, Iris (Dean) McWhinnie and great grandchildren Isaac and Molly; by her sister Mona (Mac) Sykes, her brother Jim O'Neill, and many extended family members; and by her wonderful friends whom she valued highly. Marnie shone, in her own unique ways, at being a grand and great grandmother. She also loved to cook and fed her family nutritious and interesting meals from a rich repertoire of recipes throughout her lifetime. Marnie worked as a laboratory technician at Kelowna General Hospital and at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital for many years. She also volunteered consistently over her long years of life even into her 90th year. The University Women's Club was very important to her, as all initiatives that furthered the education and economic and legal status of women locally, nationally and globally. Herb once proudly enumerated all of the projects that she had been instrumental in inaugurating or sustaining over the years and the list was long in the telling and included a wide variety of projects that she had put her mind and efforts towards. She also did little things privately for people in a more personal kind of giving. And yes, Marnie could talk! She had so many stories to tell from her travels and about people whom she knew who had done something interesting, extraordinary or funny. She got many of her attitudes towards death from her Irish father. One was to be bothered when people made saints out of those who had died. So, if you knew Marnie, then please find something annoying about her to dwell on for a while along with all of her other exemplary qualities so that she may be remembered as she would have wanted to be! In honour of Marnie's lifetime of dedication to service through volunteering her community, please donate to a charity of your choice. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 4, 215 at 10:30 am at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com, 250-860-7077.

BRUCE, BARBARA E.: OCTOBER 8, ...
Bruce, Barbara E.: October 8, 1920 - May 24, 2015 With great sadness we accept the passing of our wonderful mother, Barbara Ellen Bruce (nee Spencer). Barbara's peaceful, final moments were lovingly attended by both her children. She spent her final seven months in the care of the professional staff at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm. There truly are angels who walk amongst us. Barbara was 94 years old and suffered with Parkinson's disease. Predeceased by her three sisters Louise Newbury, Trudy Felton and Ann Williamson as well as her brother John Spencer, Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her son, Andrew, his wife Jody, and granddaughter Ginger of Kelowna, as well as Barbara's daughter, Kathleen Bruce of Sorrento. She leaves behind brother, Victor Spencer of West Vancouver, sister, Diana Dyer of Ottawa, several nieces, nephews and many friends - notably, Dr. Kristen Kornienko, whose compassionate care enabled Mom to stay at home as long as possible. Barbara was an academic who appreciated music, visual arts, history, literature and journalism. Mom was accepted to study piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in London, but could not attend due to the outbreak of the Second World War. She took English classes at Radcliff/ Harvard for two years plus a summer, and completed her degree at UBC at home in Vancouver. She was assistant city editor of the Vancouver Sun News Paper during the war and a member of the Canadian Women's Press Club. Post war, Barbara went to the interior of BC to act as managing director for one of her father's cattle ranches, the Circle S Cattle Company, Dog Creek. There she met and married our dad, Lawrence Bruce (pre-deceased 2008). They ranched in Pritchard, BC before moving to Kelowna to raise their family. Barbara was a life time member of the Canadian Hereford Association, a member of the Beef Cattle Growers' Association, as well as former Director of the Cariboo Cattlemen's Association, Williams Lake. She was nominated as a Member of the Senate of the University of British Columbia for years 1963 - 1966. Surprisingly shy and reclusive, Barbara was compassionate, empathetic, loving and strong. She abhorred cruelty, stood up for what she believed in and spoke her mind. She had terrific courage and faith. Mom's departure from this life has left a hollow place in ours but our hearts are full of beautiful memories. We give thanks for her loving, knowledgeable influence and guidance, and we accept with joyous gratitude, Mom's blessed release to a higher existence. Private, family interment. Friends and family celebration of life to be held in Kelowna at a later, as yet undetermined, date.

PUTTNER, EDMUND ROBERT: IT IS ...
PUTTNER, Edmund Robert: It is with deep sadness that the family of Edmund Robert Puttner announce his passing at the age of 82 on the 15 day of June 2015 at his rest home Westview in Penticton, British Columbia. Edmund was born in the Southern Moravian Region of Czechoslovakia, now known as the Czech Republic during a tumultuous time. Spirited away with his mother to Canada at the end of WWII by his father who remained behind and died during the end of the Nazi occupation. Edmund was instilled from birth with the quintessential ideal: family is all. He was an avid orcharder and dedicated his life to his family's orchard in the Okanagan, a sprawling wonderland of fruit trees, perched on the cliffs of Lake Okanagan. He relished family visits and any opportunity to share his wealth of knowledge and sense of adventure with the next generation, whether it was showing them how to perfectly pick and split a peach, running his old 1950's tractor down to the candy shop along the Okanagan Cliffs or showing his young cousins how to properly pack his favourite pipe. He retired from the orchard business in 1993 due to declining health and began a retirement in Keremeos, fostering elderly farm dogs on his small property. He is predeceased by his parents Juliana (nee Jedlicka), Edmund Puttner and beloved cousin Kay Hart Brett. He is survived by his cousins, Priscilla and Charlotte Brett, Betty, Seth and Noah Giuliano and May Hart. Funeral Services will be held at Providence's Summerland Chapel 13205 Rosedale Avenue, Summerland, British Columbia on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Canyon View Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Keremeos Animal Shelter in Edmund's name.
