BATEMAN, WILLIAM DAVID (Dave): April 20, 1940 - October 15, 2012 Dave left us suddenly and quietly at his home. It was totally unexpected and we were unprepared. He was recently predeceased by his Mum, Loreen Bateman, and in 1982 by his Dad, A.E. (Dewey) Bateman. Mourning this great loss is his brother, Robert J. Bateman (Judy) and his sister, Velma Bateman (Dennis Halfhide). John is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sheila, sons; Colin, Peter, daughters; Heather, Robyn and grandchildren. He is predeceased by daughter, Roslyn. Born in Australia and came to Canada in 1924, he joined the RCAF from Vanderhoof Sept, 1939. He flew Anti-Submarine flying boats for four years on Canada's east coast and briefly became C.O. FCAF Stn Guelph Ont. before going overseas at wars end. He was operations officer at RAF HQ Liverpool England. After the war John had various postings including US Air Univ. in Alabama and Esquimalt, BC as DEP Maritime Commander. He retired from RCAF in 1966 and a new life of cattle ranching and fruit growing in Naramata and as a Government Fruit Inspector. REID, WALTER Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 21, 2012 in Penticton, BC at the age of 90 years.
