JACOBSEN, Sylvia Nov 26, 1937 - Sep 2, 2013 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. On Monday September 2, 2013, Sylvia Jacobsen passed away at the age of 75 years to join her loving husband, Carlo. The last few days of her life were spent telling stories, laughing, praying and singing with all of her children, many grandchildren and friends by her side. Mom will be dearly missed by her children: Shel (Tracy), Carla (Mark), Michael, Jim (Lynnette), Chuck (Tina), Carmen, and adopted son, Dallas; grandchildren: Ashley (Corey), Matt, Dayna (Evan), Kerry, Kathryn (Daniel), Bailey, Brittni, Braiden, Brett, Brianna, Shanay and her great grandchildren: Graysen, Thatcher and Brier. Sylvia is survived by her siblings Joseph, Mary Ann, Patricia, John, Natalie, Marie, and Bridget, and has been predeceased by her sisters Harriet and Juliette, and brothers Chris, Norman and Albert and son Stan and great granddaughter Kayla. Her heart, her home and her kitchen were always open and her love welcomed and blended our many families, especially the Hill family. She was Auntie Sal to her numerous nieces and nephews and Grandma J to her many honorary grandchildren. The family would like to express our deepest thank you to Dr. Jim Emslie for his constant devotion and care. A sincere thanks to the hospital staff of Kelowna General Hospital especially Dr. Edward Welsh and Dr. Marie Michaud and the Renal Health team. Funeral Masses to celebrate her life were held in Kelowna on Thursday, September 5th and in Dawson Creek on Saturday, September 7th. In memory of Sylvia, donations may be made to: Catholic Women's League c/o Notre Dame Parish, 908 104 Avenue, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 2H7
