LITTLE, ELLEN 1932-2013 With great sadness we announce that Ellen Little, nee Hanson, passed away peacefully at the Haven Hill Retirement Home during the early hours of Friday, March 29. She was predeceased by her mother, Elsie, her brother, Mel, and her husband of fifty-four years, Warren. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers: Arthur (Loretta) and Bob (Maryelle). Ellen will always be remembered by her children: Wayne (Abeela); Robin (Lauren); Kathy (Ron); and Ken (Kim). Her memory is cherished by her grandchildren: Kelly, Kristin, Justen, Daryl, Kari, Megan, Breanne, Ashley, Janelle and Larissa. Her legacy will live on with her great grandchildren: Taylor, Callie, Rowyn, Grace, Ben, and Sydney. The family would like to thank the nurses and the Care-Aids at Haven Hill with special recognition to Naomi and Debbie for their loving care. They would also like to thank Dr. McIntosh for his care and support during this difficult time. She was well loved for her community involvement, her participation in the church choir, and her involvement with the Eagles. Her passions included her weekly swims at the community center, her creativity with ceramics, knitting and sewing, and their annual winter visits to Yuma, Arizona. She was born in Calgary on November 12th of 1932. In 1952 she met the love of her life, Warren Little, and they eloped in Coeur de Lane, Idaho. In 1970 Warren, Ellen and kids moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Together they moved to Penticton in 1982 where they shared their golden years. In lieu of flowers donations may be forwarded to an organization she greatly supported -- The Penticton Soupateria. A Celebration of Ellen's Life will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Everden Rust Funeral Services (1130 Carmi Ave., Penticton).
