HOLMES, CECIL THOMAS It is with deep sorrow that we advise the passing of Cecil Thomas Holmes on Saturday March 2, 2013. Cecil was born June 14, 1913 on a prairie farm north of Herbert Sask. Cecil was predeceased by a brother, Stuart, a sister, Dolly Phillips and a son in law Arnold. Cecil is survived by a brother Ross and two sisters, Loreen Davis and Peggy Nybo. Cecil was married to the precious Mable G. Holmes (nee Yardy) for almost 50 years and between them raised 3 daughters - Janice Clark (Arnold) - Barbara Yorke (Lowell) - Marilyn McMillan (John) and four sons - Trevor (Maureen) - Phillip (Sharon) - Brian (Karen) and Steve (Lana). Who in turn gifted him 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The Lord called Mabel home in 1990. Cecil was graced with a beautiful partner Evelyn who introduced her two daughters, Pat & Shirley into our extended family much to our great pleasure. Once again tragedy fell and in February 2006 the Lord called Evelyn home. Cecil spent 35 years in the Canadian Air Force, worked for the Penticton City Hall, Dynes Feeds and a school bus driver for Berry and Smith Trucking. Cecil was an accomplished musician and sang with the Tune Agers and was very involved with the new Seniors Centre. Cecil spent many years as a Scout Master and was very proud of an accomplishment trophy awarded him by Lord Twiedsmuir. Cecil was always generous with his money, his time and his love and strongly believed that the gauge of a man is his level of integrity. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice. A celebration of life service will be held in June. Condolences may be sent to the family through providencefuneralhomes.com
